With the new year fast approaching, the buzz regarding the next generation of consoles is increasing. What will we learn this year of the Xbox 720 and Playstation 4? Only time will tell.
I have to thank the guys that supplied me with this cool accessory for review.
Avenger Controller - Xbox 360:https://avengercontroller.com/store/avenger.html
Avenger Controller - PS3:https://avengercontroller.com/store/avengerps3.html
The Avenger Controller allows you to access your X, Y, and B buttons much faster all without taking your thumbs off the thumb-sticks while your playing. This allows for higher accuracy across all games along with a much more fluent reaction time. The controller accessory also features the ability to attach straps from the extended trigger buttons to the front of the controller where the stand is located. Once these straps are connected, you can adjust the sensitivity thus turning your triggers into hair triggers; responding to the slightest touch.
Sony’s Comeback: http://tinyurl.com/5uxu76r
Sony has “dropped the ball” so to speak recent years. But It seems that their comeback is not a matter of “if”, but a matter of “when”.
iPod Touch Dying: http://tinyurl.com/6hev23x
Over the past three years the iPod Touch has seen significant drops in sales each progressing year. Largely in part due to smart-phones now available that have many more capabilities than the iPod Touch ever did have. With Apple eventually discontinue their line of MP3 players? Or do they have a plan to revamp their entire line?
Its very possible we could see Microsoft and Sony actually team up to develop a future console. The reason why is because one, the domain name http://Microsoft-Sony.com was recently purchased. And two, people like to play games on their smart-phones. And with every year smart-phones make massive leaps in their processing and graphical capabilities. Making people less likely to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a new game-console. The best bet is for the two behemoth companies to team up and make one amazing console. The gamers win, the companies win, third-parties win. It’s money all around!
NASA’s broken promise: http://tinyurl.com/3rjypq4
Anyone who went through the era of the “Space Race” and putting man on the moon can tell you, it was a moment they will never forget. Everyone thought we would start expanding the horizons. That we would start concurring space. NASA believed this would happen and made a very bold-claim. That by the year 2000 we could have a 10,000 person space-colony. Well it’s 2011 and all we have is a dinky International Space Station NASA. Unfortunately this is in large part the government’s fault. Over the past 40 years they have cut NASA’s spending and continue to do so each year.
Next Gen Games: http://tinyurl.com/42hr3vl
We always hear about the next-gen consoles. But never the next-gen games.
Well AMD finally talked about what games will be like on the next installment of the Xbox line. When Microsoft’s new console debuts, AMD claims, the console will be capable of graphics that were used in the top-selling movie of all time. Avatar. That’s a very bold claim to make but theyre standing by it. As well, AMD said a game like Grand Theft Auto could have every single person on the street with their own unique personalities and own reactions to any given scenario.
“Tech In A Sec” is here yet again to bring the latest Geek-related news to you.
To start off, Scientists at South Carolina University’s School of Engineering have begun the first step towards real-life cyborgs. By inserting prosthetic computer chips, identical to RAM chips, into the brains of rats. The scientists were actually able to improve the memory of the rats a great amount by connecting the electrodes of the brain to the chips.
Recently hackers and hacking groups have run amok around the web. One of the biggest scares was when hackers were able to bring down the Sony Playstation Network for several weeks. It now appears one of the notorious hacking groups, LulzSec, had a member recently caught by police in England. The 19 year-old is currently being held in prison. Upon hearing the news, LulzSec released a statement noting the member was a low-lying official of the group. And the stop made by British officials in no way affected the group.
Recently AT&T announced they would be ending their unlimited data services for customers. It seems other companies are now beginning to follow this route. Verizon just announced there will now be a data-cap set for all wireless customers. Many people have become rather upset of this recent decision made by Verizon. But truthfully it wont even affect the majority of the customers. The reason why this is being done is because there are people out there who abuse the hell out of the system. Such as 4G phone owners who use the hotspot feature on their smart-phones and then decide to run an entire office off that one connection.
Apple and Google are the two biggest companies that have recently tried to take over the new “Cloud” phase in technology. The biggest area that has been focused on is our music. Everyone wants to have access to their music online, offline, and on all our devices. It appears Best Buy caught wind of this new craze because they are releasing an application for Mac and PC users to allow them to put their music in the “Cloud” so to speak. Best Buy will be charging a $4 per-month subscription service in order for users to use their new feature.
Anyone who is on YouTube knows about editing software. We all know how difficult it can be working with different types of software. Some have their advantages and disadvantages. Mac users have been stuck with using the lackluster iMovie or Final Cut which would take forever to render and was very complex for new users. Well Apple has changed all of that. Final Cut Pro X was just released for $299 on the Mac App Store and it’s one hell of a video editor. It utilizes the power computers have now-a-days and allows you to work on the video without rendering at all. This is done by rendering your clips in the background. As well, the complexity of Final Cut has now been taken away. It has been replaced by a new user interface recognizable to anyone who has used iMovie before. It takes the good from both iMovie and previous Final Cut versions to make, possibly, the best editing software to date.
Sony held their press conference last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. They unveiled information for both Resistance 3 and Uncharted 3. Both games look very promising and live demos were displayed for both. The big news at Sony’s conference was not about the games though. It was about their new handheld.
Sony’s new handheld has gone under the names PSP 2 and NGP. But the little gaming device finally has an estimated release time, a permanent name, and a price tag. You can expect to see the newly name, Sony Vita, this Winter in time for the holiday season. Vita will ship to stores with two price tags. A WiFi only model for $250, and a 3G/WiFi model for $300. Vita will only be available on AT&T which is a major let down. We all know AT&T has some very shotty coverage. As well, I felt Sony should have made the device 4G capable.
E3 is the epicenter for gamers. Every year in June, Los Angeles hosts the biggest event within the gaming culture. With video games surpassing the movie culture now in every-way, it’s no surprise all eyes turn towards the 3 video game corporations at this time of year. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo will fight to not only get the most head turns at the conference. But they’ll attempt to set the bar justs one step higher. Now of course the this conference isn’t about the consoles themselves, it’s about the games.
IGN has a massive list, found here, of all the games that are expecting announcements at this year’s E3 from June 7-9. This is one of the biggest year’s in recent memory in regards to the major game titles that are set to drop soon. As well, Nintendo is scheduled to make possibly the biggest announcement at the conference. They will be revealing their next-generation console which has gone under code-names “Stream” and “cafe.” Stay posted here when June 7-9 rolls around for updates on the biggest announcements regarding E3.
