I don’t care at all. It can sound quite selfish, harsh and people always seem to take it in the wrong way. I view the statement of “I don’t care,” in a different light as most do though. It doesn’t mean that your life is irrelevant or meaningless to me. It simply means that I have my own life to worry about. I have my own issues, challenges and dilemmas I should be working on.

The other reason I practically live by this statement is because I learned the hard way that I shouldn’t care about every drama filled situation. See I always used to be the person that involved myself into a situation after someone told me about the details. I tried to fix things or at least give my opinions when it was not needed. Being this type of person can often pull you into drama filled situations that you didn’t intentionally mean to get involved in.

So now when someone feels the need to discuss a problem in their life, I kind of ignore whatever they’re talking about. It sounds bad and some may view this as selfish in their own eyes. But this mentality allows me to focus more on situations within my life and within the lives of my family without being side-tracked in life. We all have a very limited time here on Earth and you can’t keep yourself pre-occupied with issues others are experiencing.
